I don't like flavored coffees but I saw the hype for your Cinnamon Coffee Cake so I thought I would give it a try. Unfortunately, it just confirmed my inclination. Chemical aftertaste. Disappointing.
Many years ago, a coworker bought this and decided he preferred non-flavored coffee, so he gave his bag of Royal Rum Pecan (whole bean!) to me. Before this life-changing good fortune, I had no idea coffee could be so outrageously fragrant, delicious and rich. What a sensory revelation! Like that coworker, I too prefer non-flavored coffee (from here, of course), but the Royal Rum Pecan sure made a believer out of me in Mystic Monk Coffee; I've been a fan ever since:) Don't mull it over-just add to cart!
Light bodied but flavorful. No brash notes, smooth, very well balanced. If you're inclined to use creamer and sweetener, you'll need less than you'd otherwise use because there's no need to "mask" anything in this coffee. As another reviewer stated, I too am a shift worker-this coffee really is still drinkable if left to get cold. Purchased in a 5-lb bag without having tried it before-that's how much confidence I have in MM coffees!
This coffee tastes as good as it smells! Will order again
Seeing as coffee cake and cinnamon are two of my favorites this is a win win for me. I will be sure to share it with friends next time we get together.
